David Whitmore, Esq.

David Whitmore has more than two decades of diverse financial and operational experience working with closely held businesses, public companies and governments. As Levick’s COO and GC, he helps guide the firm’s team of experts in public affairs, government relations, and crisis and issues management.
With exceptional experience in financial strategy, and in managing the resources that drive organizational performance, David has spent most of the last 25 years in the communications industry working with public relations, public affairs, lobbying, and advertising firms.
 
Prior to joining Levick, Whitmore provided communications planning and management services to a number of clients in Washington, D.C., Abu Dhabi, and Dubai. He opened the Washington, DC office of Racepoint Group and played a significant role in the growth of Qorvis Communications, including financial and management oversight of that firm’s business with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 
Prior to Qorvis, Whitmore served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and member of the Board of Directors of Shandwick Washington/The Cassidy Companies, the Washington, D.C. branch of Weber Shandwick, where he was responsible for the management and performance of eight firms with over $100 million in annual revenue. Additionally, David led M&A efforts for Shandwick in North America, resulting in strategic acquisitions for Shandwick and its parent, The Interpublic Group of Companies.
 
As a corporate attorney, business consultant, and financial advisor, David’s acumen in evaluating investments, identifying acquisitions, performing due diligence, and spearheading negotiations has empowered him to meet the growth and development needs of a variety of closely-held businesses and public companies. As the senior executive responsible for profit and loss, David brings strategic focus and mature business judgment to post-merger transitions and operations.
David has served as a senior executive in a number of other entrepreneurial firms where his proven skills, practiced counsel and adroit trouble-shooting were instrumental to corporate growth and success.
 
David received his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law, and his B.S. in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
