During his career, Mr. Ellis has handled an array of communications challenges. He has served as chief communications officer for three global software companies and a Fortune 500 Company; as a vice president for a worldwide, top-five public relations agency; president and CEO of a top 20 PR agency, senior vice president for an international political consulting firm and head of his own communications consultancy.
His recent client work has included Think Tools, AG, Mercator Software, BRIDGEWERX, SAGA SOFTWARE, PacStar Technologies, The J.M. Smucker Company, The Homeland Security Industries Association, E.J. Krause & Associates, The National Intelligence Conference, The U.S. Maritime Security Conference, M&T Bank, Honeywell Specialty Products, The Maryland State Medical Society, The Adams Express Company, and The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
As Senior VP of Jefferson Waterman International, he headed media relations for the firm's ten foreign government clients. He counseled high-level elected and appointed officials on news media relations, internal communications, bilateral relations with the U.S. Government, privatization, and freedom-of-the-press initiatives.
He was President and CEO of Earle Palmer Brown Public Relations, a $6 million unit of a $400 million integrated marketing firm. At GenCorp, Inc., a $4 billion conglomerate, Mr. Ellis oversaw corporate and marketing communications for the company’s four subsidiaries. As a VP at Burson-Marsteller, he was closely involved with RKO General, Johnson & Johnson, The Coca-Cola Company, Sears Roebuck, General Electric, DuPont, and AARP, among national and international clients.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, where he majored in journalism and minored in public relations, Mr. Ellis was honored twice by PR News with its Gold Key Award. He has lectured widely on the importance of communications to international business and foreign governments.
