Robert A. Peres is an attorney and international communications counselor with more than 15 years experience who brings rich European crisis expertise to his work with Levick Strategic Communications. Mr. Peres heads up Robert Peres Consulting LLC, with offices in Washington, D.C. and Frankfurt, Germany, and specializes in cross-border transaction, litigation, and crisis communications. His legal background encompasses complex communications challenges involving crisis management, class actions, shareholder disputes, antitrust litigation, and tort liability suits. Mr. Peres has an equally strong background in corporate and financial communications, with a proven record of successful brand positioning, messaging, crisis training, and takeover initiatives. He was responsible for the successful German media relations campaign centered on Vodafone’s hostile takeover of German blue chip Mannesmann AG – which, valued at $200 billion, was the largest transaction in business history. Mr. Peres has served numerous other top-level clients such as Volkswagen, Dow Corning, Fidelity Investments, Creditanstalt, and Scottish Amicable. Among his most visible crisis accounts was Dow Corning. As leader of the European team of Edelman Worldwide handling the breast implant crisis and subsequent Chapter 11 filing, he advised Dow Corning’s European leadership in Brussels and built a third-party support network.< In recent years, Mr. Peres held senior-level communications positions at global law firms such as Jones Day, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, and Chadbourne & Parke in Washington, D.C. and New York City. At these prestigious firms he was responsible for firm-wide communications, marketing, practice development, and client team programs. Mr. Peres has significant experience in the area of sustainable energy and “green business,” helping launch two special practices dedicated to climate change at the law firms where he worked. Mr. Peres has published numerous articles on PR, legal, and business development topics in the United States and Germany, and speaks both English and German fluently. His industry experience includes financial services, automotive, chemical, telecommunications, real estate, hospitality, insurance, accounting, and aerospace. Mr. Peres is a member of the American Bar Association as well as the Frankfurt Bar Association, and holds a law degree from the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. He is active in regional and national Down Syndrome organizations.
