With more than 20 years experience as an award-winning public relations professional and journalist, Kate Ennis is a financial industry communications leader providing Levick clients with seasoned counsel and marketplace savvy.
As principal of Ennis Communications, Ms. Ennis is a trusted advisor to financial service firms, corporations, and trade associations as well as high-profile clients such as the Identity Theft Assistance Center (ITAC) and The Financial Services Roundtable, where she previously served as Director of Communications.
Her professional track record is distinguished for its breadth and depth. Ms. Ennis was a senior counselor in the Washington office of Magnet Communications where she spearheaded numerous financial services campaigns, including the Treasury Department’s initiative to market electronic savings bonds. That campaign won a coveted Thoth Award from the Public Relations Society of America.
Previously, Ms. Ennis was Director of Public Information at the Investment Company Institute (ICI) where she served as a spokesperson for the mutual fund industry. She managed ICI’s news media events and other external communications programs, including the ICI Foundation/American University Journalism Awards for Excellence in Personal Finance Reporting.
A prestigious financial journalist, Ms. Ennis was News Manager at CNBC, directing daily coverage and editorial planning. There, she covered such major business stories as the merger of Travelers Group and Citicorp; the acquisition of ABC/Capital Cities by Walt Disney Company; and the Master Settlement Agreement with the tobacco industry. As a freelance journalist, Ms. Ennis wrote feature articles for such national publications as the Washington Post and Woman’s World as well as news copy for WJLA-TV and National Public Radio.
Before joining CNBC, Ms. Ennis was Communications Manager at Standard & Poor’s Ratings Group where she oversaw day-to-day media relations for S&P. A trade association veteran as well, she was Director of Public Information at the American Institute of Architects.
