Donna Cryer, Of Counsel to Levick, has devoted her career to communicating complex medical, medical/legal, and bioethical issues topics to a variety of crucial audiences - the media, lawmakers, patients, and medical and legal professionals as well as the general public.
She has spearheaded successful publicity and informational campaigns to support legislative initiatives as well as to generate broad public awareness of specific healthcare issues and resources.
Ms. Cryer has written the crisis and litigation communications protocols for a significant percentage of the world's major pharmaceutical companies. And, she has taken the art of communications one crucial step further, as a savvy coalition-builder and grassroots organizer who identifies potential supporters and fuses them into powerful instruments for both targeted and mass communications.
As a Georgetown-educated attorney, she brings a keen legal as well as communications eye to multicultural marketing, business development, program development, and strategic planning.
For Pfizer, Ms. Cryer was a key player on a cross-agency team that represented the company’s cardiovascular franchise (Lipitor, Norvasc, and Caduet). For GlaxoSmithKline, she led the account team responsible for marketing Epivir-HBV in Asian-American markets around the country. For Aventis, Ms. Cryer generated multicultural marketing for diabetes, deep vein thrombosis, and cancer medications. For Johnson & Johnson, she created a policy analysis program to predict and influence regulatory treatment of second-generation biologics.
Most recently a senior consultant to AstraZeneca, Washington, D.C., Ms. Cryer is an alumnus of Hill & Knowlton where she was Senior Account Supervisor, Health Care Policy. She was also one of four founding members of the task force that created Senator Durbin's "Give Thanks, Give Life" campaign, which she helped expand to include the NFL along with dozens of health, disease, and donation-affiliated groups.
Ms. Cryer has been a member of strategic planning committees for Harvard University and Georgetown University Law Center. She has appeared as an expert on CNN, Fox News, CBS Evening News, and NBC News.
In addition to her law degree from Georgetown, Ms. Cryer graduated from Harvard/Radcliffe Colleges with a degree in Government.
